Who We Are

Meet Your Outfitter

Alexander Perez, Owner and guide, born in Miami Florida grew up living a life enjoying all the outdoors had to offer. At 18 years old he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he would become a Hospital Corpsman. His first duty station was overseas, working at Naval Hospital Sigonella, Italy, where he gained the foundation of his medical background. He spent those two years expanding his medical knowledge while working in labor and delivery wards, inpatient/outpatient clinics, and internal medicine. From there Alexander selected orders to serve alongside America’s premiere fighting force, the United States Marine Corps, where he spent time honing his skills in expeditionary medicine and tactical combat casualty care. In the summer of 2011, Alexander deployed with the 2nd Battalion 4th Marines as a senior line medic to Afghanistan. Where they would make a push into Taliban-controlled territory. During this deployment, while escorting an EOD unit (explosive ordnance disposal) his truck struck an 80lb IED, which led to him being awarded the Purple Heart. Little did he know at the time this event would set in motion a change in his life plans.

Post Navy he diverted from his life goal of becoming a physician’s assistant and decided to attend the Colorado Outdoor Adventure Guide School (COAGS). During his tenure in guide school, he learned the core skills required to become a fishing and hunting guide as well as horsemanship and how to utilize pack animals in mountainous terrain.

His love for wild and remote adventures brought him to Alaska and since has made it his home. Alexander has incorporated every aspect of Alaska into his life and is currently working towards his commercial pilot license and USCG captain license. Guiding for him isn’t just a job, it’s his way of life.
